Overall 7 Story 0 Animation 0 Sound 0 Character 0 Enjoyment 0 Kagami's View Review #2: Ahhh, hotsprings. A location that shows off the richness of the human body of all parties involved. While the hotsprings episode is overdone in anime and will continue to be, it was still fun seeing the Nyaruko crew again and ecchi fans will likely enjoy the fanservice handed to them. Now, let me be completely honest here. I'm indifferent with ecchi, sometimes I love it and sometimes I wish certain anime would remove it.
Nyaruko-san is NOT the latter. This OVA is roughly fifteen minutes long and brings the crew of Haiyore!
Nyaruko-San W (2nd season) back for an encore and delivers with the usual comedic goodness that Nyaruko-San offers. I must warn people who truly hate ecchi that there are butt shots, and a few of them at that.
I personally enjoyed it, but it is completely understandable that some will not. I really suggest watching both seasons of Nyaruko-San before watching this because it was animated after the two seasons and takes place after them. I'll admit, there is no real story to this OVA and was likely created for the fanservice, but fans of Nyaruko-San will most likely enjoy this episode. I'm pretty confident most-all of the important characters are shown at least once, so if you like a certain character you'll be really glad seeing them again.
Overall, I am fan of the anime so I award this a 7/10. I enjoyed it completely and believe some others will as well. Overall 8 Story 0 Animation 0 Sound 0 Character 0 Enjoyment 0 I decided against writing a long review for this Ova due to how short it really is and wanted to get straight to the point. Obviously, this is a sorta sequel to the first two seasons of Nyaruko San and watching it without watching the first two seasons would be pointless and just good for a completion which isn't worth it (your better off watching Shitcom if you really want a completion). The episode continued off the humor the first two seasons produced with a fabulous Hot Springs episode that offered ecchi and mini Kuukos! If you weren't a fan of the humor Nyaruko San offered nor really were a fan in the first place, watching this Ova will most likely not changed your mind at all about the series and probably will still leave you disliking it completely.
Though, if you were a fan. What isn't there to love?
I suggest watching this if you've seen both seasons and enjoyed it to at least a Six out of Ten. Thanks for reading! Overall 7 Story 6 Animation 8 Sound 6 Character 7 Enjoyment 7 Hot springs! This is the Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W OVA review special!
Story (6.45/10): For plot, the story of the OVA is really nothing special. More or less it's your average hot springs OVA where the characters go to a hot springs and the only thing that makes it different than other OVA of the same category is with the show's unique charm and comical gags. Safe to say, this OVA more or less fulfilled what it wanted to achieve. The OVA like its parent story do what it planned on doing from the get go, become a very entertaining time killer.
Safe to say, the OVA fully completed said goal and overall became a nice recap of the style of the series by making everything (literally everything) as comical as it possibly can, which for this OVA, worked towards its benefit. Overview: + Original flair to the show kept - Rather bland base plot idea Characters (7.01/10): If you've seen either one of this show's two seasons, than you should at least be somewhat familiar with its characters. (To some extent I hope.) Practically everyone from the original series shows up again. Our main protagonist Mahiro, the show's mascot and my personal favorite of the show, Nyaruko, Kuko, Hastua, and a host of other side characters that more or less pop in and out of importance. What I think the OVA did well was keeping the original personalities of these characters correct, thus making them as memorable as they were before, and therefore as enjoyable as they were before.
Though, mind you, these characters have no deep drama or character development within them, so more or less they're one-sided people that just have outrageous and quite hilarious character to them. Overview: + Original character personalities kept + Character gags persisted + Memorable people - Rather one-sided overall - Less than extraordinary supporting cast. Art and Sound (7.57/10 and 6.46/10): For art the series has kept its original flair with its artstyle. All of the characters look just as good as they did when they were first introduced, and there was really no jarring animation at all to look. There was still the quite comical side to the show with overly exaggerated whatever and chibis, which was still quite well done I feel. Note though, there is fanservice in this OVA as it's a hot springs episode; but, if you've seen the series before, fanservice should not come as a surprise at all due to the fact that many times in the series, Nyaruko well, pulls things out of her lady parts because, reasons. (Plus she tries to seduce Mahiro, I don't know.) In terms of music, the show retains its original tracks from the second season of the show.
In my opnion, the music sounds rather cheerful and as pointless and exaggerated as the series it plays for, but it's not memorable. While the beginning part is actually scarringly catchy, everything else is sort of meh. Overview: + Pretty well detailed art - Somewhat forgettable music. (I can't get that beginning part out of my head!) Personal Enjoyment (7.35/10): Haiyore! Nyaruko-san has always been a rather favorable series of mine.
It has this wacky atmosphere that it doesn't even need to try in because everything about it feels so natural. Even in a generic feeling OVA, the absurdity of the series still came true and persisted throughout the 23 minutes I watched this. The show's personal flair existed throughout the whole thing, and it was nice to get a good laugh out of a series that meant to be extremely pointless. All in all, this OVA managed to recapture the flair of the original series and was quite enjoyable to watch. The series is not a masterpiece mind you, but it's a good time killer if you really wish to watch one. Overall Score: (6.98/10).
Overall 6 Story 6 Animation 7 Sound 5 Character 7 Enjoyment 6 Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W OVA. For the original series being in the title. Surprisingly it fits just right the spirit of the anime, that I did not watch for some long time. Instead I went on and started reading that novel or novella with that special tentacled hentai-like beast, The Call of Cthulhu. Story (6): Plotwise, just some trip over your average anime bathhouse, with our beloved perverted Nyaruko, the yuriscene bringer redheaded (like I recall her name) and the other nameless staff.
Can't really say it's much, don't criticize for such. We'll pass this on because it does the job for being an otaku money-racker on obnixious blue-ray, with ecchi and comedy tags. Art (7): Can it be more generic? But I don't consider this as generic for the least. Instead, I feel as if it sets a basic. Colourful, united, refreshing.
The character design is all the necessary, little mention for Nyaruko being character of the series with her awesomely grown-long ahoge. It respects pretty well the ecchi-theme with brio, checking both big chests and attracting posteriors. All hail glowy skinny glimpsy lights! Sound (5): I just looked up the OVA, yet I don't recall the sound. Not even a memory for water splashing, but I know it was present for the replicas and subtitles. Extremely average, I understand it's not the point on which they were to focus on.
Character (7): As half the cast was presented in the three first episodes, I knew who they were. And it's some really good cast there is here. First we have our Nyaruko, perverted and otaku, greyhaired and greeneyed, which makes it for four of my turn-on.
Then redhaired yuri love-interest, who has the role of rival and lover of Nyaruko in this OVA. Also, there was the trap who had little appearance so he should be passed on.
The male main character also is special, his only unique trait is being the spoon protagonist in the whole anime world. Enjoyment (6): Welp, it was surely sexy, I pretty much wasn't expecting to end up watching this OVA and reviewing it half an hour after. It was worthwhile for various reasons, but it deserves the merits of showing me some more Nyaruko screentime. Overall (6): By the time you readers must be informed I really loved Nyaruko as character, and that the reviewing of this anime implies rating it slightly under what I would normally. Of course, because any human being who hold critic judgement will try and be impartial at his best. So, solid cash-racker OVA and in the massive average for every anime similar this decade, based on sales; but I'm kinda interested by this aspect of animation, world in which I may be a little new.

Overall 9 Story 6 Animation 10 Sound 9 Character 10 Enjoyment 10 2014 couldnt start better!! I have watch alot of different anime, and I have a taste for lots of different things on anime, I like smart, well thought, with character and story plots anime. And I like anime that doesnt care about those 4 points I just stated but that still entertains you! IF BY ANY MEANS you are looking for any one of those 4 points in this series, I suggest you just skip it!
This is crazy japonese harem madness (generally harems arent much my thing, but this anime is a few of those exceptions)!! Almost nothing, if something at all, that happens in Nyaruko-san series is on check with reality!! Truly a japonese anime, they dont hold anything back on this (dont expect this to be a ecchi show like To LOVE-Ru thought, Xebec another production), I have watch all of To LOVE-Ru anime, and if you had like that, probably you will like this. Obviously if you are on pair with what the show is about you know you cannot expect a great story, the story here is just supporting all the comedy, light romance, jokes and gags that Haiyore! Throws at you.
You got the male guy (Mahiro), this time a tsun tsun one. And his adventures with 3 different deitys, based of 'The Cthulhu Mythos' based on H. Lovecraft universe, so these deitys are supposed to be very ugly and disfigured.
But you get 3 cute girls. Wait one of them, it is a guy. Itself the story isnt that bad, it is full of cliches, but still it goes well with the flow of what this anime is about. Story=6/10 For the Art, I m gonna admit it, I LOVE MOE characters!! One of the things I like in anime is to see cute things, it is a charm of japonese culture, this anime breaths of kawoiii madness! The models of the characters are very well done, for being focused on the characters emotions and expressions, they done a very good job at it, I truly love Nyarko cuteness!! If you like moe characters, you will enjoy this alot.
For me, it goes as far as to be wanted to be transported to the anime for a couple of minutes, and just pat Nyarko head, and hug her and yell kawoii KAWOII thousands of times (something I would see as a crazy desire normally.), they just nailed it for me!! Art=10/10 OP's, op's. I dont like most of them!
Garbage, sorry I just dont care for most pop romance japonese weirdo songs outhere!! BUT for some reason, both of the Op's of the first and second anime of Nyarko I fully watched, FOR ALL of the time, they are that catchy, I dont understand how composers do this, but the songs just feel right when they are played, for how light and generic the plot is, sometimes you may think the sound would just as bad. Quality, everything fits right on, for the sad, despair, anxiety, colourful and more happy scenes brought in together, the sound department done a great job with the atmosphere, again specially the OP's!! I see myself going back and play these again and again without feeling bored. Sound=9/10 Characters, this is what the anime is about, and what will be decisive if either you like this anime or not!! The characters are what defines this anime, they arent that special, you cannot expect amazing character development or gripping plot of them!!
Most of the times they only do crazy and stupid things a human being wouldnt possibly do (a feature of most japonese animes), but this is what makes me love this anime so much, I wanted funny and light-hearted moments, I didnt searched for a reality check, life is hard, and we need to endure it, but for me I sometimes like to have a break of that world!! Beyond Mahiro with Nyarko at main characters, for supportive roles worth to mention you get Hasuta, 'Hastar deity of the wind', that wants to make babies with the main male character, but he is a guy (this annoys me alot at first, but then you just dont give a thing bout him no more).
Kuuko 'Cthuko deity' is quiet and calm, except when she is close to Nyarko, the one she loves despite being mutual enemy species, and both 'girls'!! And then Ta-Damm, Nyarko 'Nyaruko, a Nyarlotephian deity', one of a bright personality, that can pack a punch and kill enemies in very gore ways, she is in love with Mahiro and has to 'protect' him of any harm other than herself!! She defines what I like about the series. Mahiro as some very annoying moments (tsundere male. I love tsundere females, being a male one feels weird at first), but Kuuko and Nyarko. They 'fights', and dialogue between them and other characters, all the jokes and references, and the romance between this harem, THIS SHINES!! Like I said soo crazy, stupid and not logical, that I just laughed and laughed throught the whole show, most of the people might not agree, and for them this might not be a good mix, but for me, it was just what I was looking for, enjoyment!!
Truly stupid and illogical at that, but it made me almost maratoon this whole series (something impossible being myself in college exams 'happy-fun-mode-time', YEAH ME!!). Characters&Enjoyment=10/10 Overall I have to give it a 9, I gave the first season a 8, this one was more enjoyable, I already knew almost all of the cast, I enjoyed season 1, and I wanted more of that crazyness comedy satire stuff, so when I started watching Haiyore!
Nyaruko-san W, I got large doses of that!! And in the end, I have felt realized from what I wanted to get from Nyaruko-san W anime. Most people wont agree with my review about this, I agree it isnt a anime for everybody, but for what it is about, its premise, for me, it was a dazzling gleam!!
I wont forget these characters, they made laugh alot and have a good time, and Nyarko, one of the most illogical, delusional characters I ever saw on a harem. I m her fan, VERY proudly!! Everything has a place to be, a moment to belong to, either amazing, gripping, complex, perfectly logical stories, or crazy stupid madness fun comedies!!
Both, and has of now, 'Miss' Nyaruko 'Nyarlotephian deity', have a place to belong in my heart and soul!! With great expectations I wait and hope for a third season to come!! Overall 8 Story 8 Animation 8 Sound 8 Character 8 Enjoyment 8 Do you shout at your vacuum cleaner? Do you want more stupidity in your life? Do you have any sanity points left?
Do you think Lovecraft would be better with a lot more Kamen Rider and Space CQC? Sit your ass down and turn off your brain, just not too much, because you will need it for all the references. If you liked Nyaralthotep S1, this is just more of the same absurd jokes and premises.
After all, who doesn't want, no NEED, more video game and Cthulhu mythos in their life? Don't expect any big reveals, revelations, or character progression-everyone's pretty much the same and the stupid adventures are just as stupid. If I can find any criticism, is that Mahiro (the protagonist/love interest) has given up the straight man act this season, which was one of the funniest parts of S1, but also understandable if you hang out with abominations all day.
There are also too many callbacks to S1 so it feels like a rehash of the same premise and story lines. Also Kuko is less rapey-not sure if that's a bad thing, tho. I will finish by adding: Joker! Cyclone cylone! Overall 8 Story 7 Animation 7 Sound 8 Character 8 Enjoyment 8 With my review of the first season of this my main complaints were the Harem,Annoying MC, The Trap and that i think Nyaruko should have been the MC. While the fact that this is a Harem still slightly annoy's me it's not that bad when compared to other shows with them. Harems are always annoying cause there will always be one character you like more over the others and want them to be with the MC.
While i don't want Cthuko to be with the MC ( Witch has started to happen and is annoying) I do want her to be with Nyaruko. They in my opinion make the best couple of them all. The MC while not as annoying as the 1st season doesn't mean he isn't as annoying. There just isn't much likable about him. He tends to be overly rude to the girls of the show and you start to question his sexuality. Especially sense the trap is the only person in this harem he doesn't assault when the trap is try to sexually advance on him.
The trap seems to have gotten a smaller role in the first couple episodes of the 2nd season. It's nice but still the fact remains the trap is in this. Nyaruko i still feel is just the best character all around. She has more of a personality than the MC. The MC's personality comprises of Being an Asshole,Annoying and always assaulting people that have any affection towards him ( Except the trap) I honestly imagine the show with Nyaruko as the MC being about her just going around doing random crap and not caring about any humans seeing her. While also having the MC in the group of friends. I also see a harem with her being the main star a lot more attracting than this.
Nyaruko and Cthuko would be the main love interest cause they both have the best chemistry. Something new that bugs me is the constant use of how all the people in the universe are weak against forks. The joke gets old after the first couple times in the first season. Cthuko herself actually got more backstory and is probably the 2nd best character design there is right behind Nyaruko. I still think that the first season should've ended with the MC and Nyaruko bodies being swapped.
I still think this would have lead to more comedic stuff down the road even if it only lasted a couple more episodes. Something else that has bugged me is how week the two eldritch deities can be especially Nyaruko that is a pretty famous one. Hell, I wish they would just talk more about her being a deity known for making people going mad and other shit. Tuneup utilities 2008 archive rar. This also has a really touching confession in it by Nyaruko.

Probably one of the best i'v seen sense Rem from Re:Zero Overall story is still fun to watch and enjoy. Overall 7 Story 4 Animation 8 Sound 8 Character 9 Enjoyment 7 Mindless enjoyment, that is enhanced through a working knowledge of pop culture (both american and japanese) I found this second season to fall back on many of the more common harem/ecchi tropes, but still enjoyed it.
Nyaruko W
Characters have been established, and there is little development to be had. This isn't that kind of anime.
The really key point to this review, though is Nyaruko-san herself. Never have I been more irritated by a character, yet wanted that character to succeed in winning the hapless/gutless/herbivore MC's heart.
I had to pause episodes I was so bothered by Nyrauko, yet I still found myself rooting for her. Absolutely worth watching if you liked the first season, and if you haven't seen the first season then I would recommend that too.
